4.1.1.2. Possession and 3 meter wording

new and old euro ruleset

4.1.1.2. Possession is not forfeited by the Ball Carrier if a deliberate touch on the ball
by an opponent does not hinder the Ball Carrier’s ability to continue playing
the ball with the mallet and its proximity to the ball remains within
approximately 3m.

My issue : hard time to read (both as a player or ref) “3meters” on a open field with moving players, what did the rule based its 3 meter limit ?

my mallet is 105 cm + arm length 70cm
how can one be "in possession of the ball within 3meters " if it cannot reach / play it ?

my proposal : change the wording to “immediate reach” so the possession of the ball cannot be held by an invisible 3 meter crease .
