Aliexpress Parts

I’m building a new bike, and I have found the Aliexpress world. These were recommended to me, but it seems to good to be true. There also appears to be the same hub for $45 vs $13. What’s your experience with Aliexpress? Anyone buy carbon 650b rims?
Rear hub

I know people who have made good experience with AliExpress hubs, probably not these exact ones. Might be that the bearings last a bit shorter but when they fail you should be able to replace them with high quality ones
I recall @Chris saying he has some china carbon wheels but don’t remember the details

my first polo wheelset was from ali, it was great except the freehub would skip occasionally. enough that i eventually found a used set of hope hub’d wheels on ebay to replace them

I still use the front hub on my partner’s bike, it’s a sealed bearing ta hub that you can get qr caps for so it’s great, but the rear hub is basically garbage due to the free hub issue.

@Tommi_da just built a brand new aliexpress 650b carbon rim front wheel…

[Hub](I just found this on AliExpress: $71.00 | 690 rings RUJIXU-MTB Hub Single Speed Locks, CNC Machining, Aluminum Alloy, 32 Holes, 135x10mm, DJ Bike Hubsets, 6Claw, 2 Teeth 690 Ringe RUJIXU-MTB Naben-Single-Speed-Schlösser, CNC-Bearbeitung, Aluminiumlegierung, 32 Löcher, 135 x 10 mm, DJ-Fahrradnaben, 6 Klauen, 2 Zähne - AliExpress 18)
This one even has a mallet logo!

Yes ! That’s true , i payed around 150€ , including vat and delivery .

Let’s see how long it last !

I’ll come to next tournaments with a spare front wheel :eyes:

I’ve had good experience with cranksets by Goldix and Smllow. They use steel 24mm spindle for shimano BB and Sram 3-bolt chainrings. I would avoid the aesthetic dupes- anything drillium, 5dev, that dimpley one.

I got the Tanke DJ hub- 32h, 10mm bolt on, freehub, high POE and doesn’t feel too draggy spinning by hand. Haven’t built it yet.

This hub doesn’t look bad
Probably it’s a super cheap good rear hub for polo!

I think I’m going all in on Ali Express hubs and cranks. I’m going to stick with “real” parts for the stem, bar, rims, spokes, and seat post. Right now, my big concern is shearing off the rotor on a front hub again.

when i recomanded you that exact rear hub in your first post , its because people been using it for a year without issues

the 13$ one is an offer , they are really 45$

We broke 2 AliExpress cranks @ Milano bike polo, I would suggest you not to buy those .

Shimano deore are stupidly cheap and I believe the cues one are also .

I also broke a crank just by jousting. Very happy with a Carbon handelbar from Ali, Even If it felt weird in the beginning.

Where/how did it break? Steel or aluminum spindle?

It‘s Bern the alu crank with a Alu axel. It broke Like 5cm to the peadels threat.
