Berlin is one of the few tournaments with non-player spectators. That means sometimes you get to overhear fun comments like this one from Saturday:
Ref (english): two minutes left
Little child (german): What did he say?
Mother (german): Two minutes left.
Little child (german): How do you know? Do you speak the referee language?
Mother (german): Yes, because I used to ref hockey games back in the days.

I was around when a spectator asked “who’s playing?”, to which a polo player turned around and helpfully said the team names, something like “am kanal du loser against tofustulle”. The spectator was utterly confused, since their question was definitely answered but without really answering anything. Then I explained to them what the fuck was going on.
