Mya, Eliska, and Nele, won the Helles Belles
Last weekend the famous Helles Belles Flinta tournament was held in Hamburg. 16 teams were registered, including players from America.
On Saturday, 5 Swiss Rounds were played in two groups.
The Saturday was interspersed with a lot of rain, which did not stop for a while.
The top 2 of each group qualified directly for the elimination on Sunday.
Saturday evening there were pickups and a great party in front of the Kiosk Royaal.
After the games of the top 4 and the bottom 12 were played, a single elimination with 8 teams was played.
In the first quarterfinal “Ruckus”(Lisa, Johanna, Elodie) played against “kick my bad ass”(Conny, Johanna, Jovina). Ruckus, who were among the title favorites, had difficulties against the Viennese team at first, but finally won 3:2.
The second quarterfinal between “we call it a classic”(Bulle, Katy, Nathalie) and Safety Third(Judith, Kim, Rita) was not quite as goal rich, in the end it was Kim who scored the 1:0 two minutes before the end of the game and sent her team into the semifinals.
The third quarterfinal was a duel between the Swiss team “Clita”(Clara, Rita, Zita) and the title favorites “group poop” (Nele, Mya, Eliska). Both teams failed to score a goal before the end of regulation time and also the golden goal lasted 10 minutes. In the end Nele shot her team into the semifinals.
In the last quarterfinal between the American team “Bug off” (Shelley, Manu, Quimey) and “careless panda” (Maryse, Celeste, Justine) the team around Shelley was clearly superior and won 3:0.
In the first semifinal Ruckus played against Safety Third. It was probably the most exciting game of the whole tournament, because it was 0:0 for a very long time and the team around Polo legend Elodie could not score a goal. Rita and Kim played very well together and were able to win the final by a score of 1:0.
The second semifinal between Group poop and bug off was a very dynamic and fast game, in the end the team around Eliska won 3:1
In the match for third place the Ruckus had to secure their place on the podium. However, the American team did not make it easy for them. But Ruckus won after 12 minutes of play with 3:2
So Group Poop and Safety third met in the final match.
While the team around local hero Judith wanted to cause another surprise, the team around Nele shifted up a few gears. Safety third had no successful completion, while group poop could score 5 goals.
Despite the 5:0 defeat it was a very successful tournament for Safety Third, Kim was also elected MVP.
For Eliska it was the fourth tournament win this year, as she also won the Mallet Dolorosa.

Am vergangenen Wochenende wurde das bekannte Helles Belles Flinta Turnier in Hamburg ausgetragen. 16 Teams waren angemeldet, darunter auch Spielerinnen aus Amerika.
Am Samstag wurden 5 Swiss Rounds in zwei Gruppen gespielt.
Der Samstag war durchzogen von viel Regen, welcher erstmal nicht aufhören sollte.
Die Top 2 der jeweiligen Gruppen qualifizierte sich dann direkt fĂĽr die elimination am Sonntag.
Samstag Abend gab es neben Pickups auch eine grandiose Party vor dem Kiosk Royaal.
Nachdem die Spiele der Top 4 und die der bottom 12 gespielt waren, wurde eine single elimination mit 8 Teams gespielt.
Im ersten Viertelfinale spielte “Ruckus”(Lisa, Johanna, Elodie) gegen “kick my bad ass”(Conny, Johanna, Jovina). Ruckus, die zu den Titelfavoriten zählten, hatten zuerst Schwierigkeiten gegen das Wiener Team, siegten schlussendlich aber mit 3:2.
Das zweite Viertelfinale zwischen “we call it a klassiker”(Bulle, Katy, Nathalie) und Safety Third(Judith, Kim, Rita) war nicht ganz so Tor reich, am Ende war es Kim, die zwei Minuten vor spielende das 1:0 erzielte und ihr Team ins Halbfinale schoss.
Das dritte Viertelfinale war ein Duell zwischen dem Schweizer Team “Clita”(Clara, Rita, Zita) und den Titelfavoriten “group poop” (Nele, Mya, Eliska). Beide Teams schafften es vor Ende der regulären Spielzeit nicht ein Tor zu erzielen und auch das golden goal dauerte 10 Minuten. Am Ende schoss Nele ihr Team ins Halbfinale.
Im letzte Viertelfinale zwischen dem amerikanischen Team “Bug off”(Shelley, Manu, Quimey) und “careless panda”(Maryse,Celeste,Justine) war das Team um Shelley eindeutig überlegen und siegte mit 3:0
Im ersten Halbfinale spielte Ruckus gegen Safety Third. Es war wohl das spannendste Spiel des ganzen Turniers, da es sehr lange 0:0 stand und das Team um Polo Legende Elodie kein Tor erzielen konnte. Rita und Kim spielten sehr gut zusammen und konnten durch ein 1:0 den Finaleinzug fĂĽr sich entscheiden.
Das zweite Halbfinale zwischen Group poop und bug off war ein sehr dynamisches und schnelles Spiel, am Ende siegte das Team um Eliska mit 3:1
Im Spiel um Platz drei mussten die Ruckus ihren Podiumsplatz sichern. Das amerikanische Team machte es ihnen jedoch nicht leicht. Aber Ruckus gewann nach 12 Minuten Spielzeit mit 3:2
Group Poop und Safety third trafen sich also im Finalspiel.
Während das Team um Lokalmatadorin Judith nochmal für eine Überraschung sorgen wollte, schaltete das Team um Nele nochmal ein paar Gänge höher. Safety Third hatte keinen erfolgreichen Abschluss, während group poop 5 Tore erzielen konnte.
Trotz der 5:0 Niederlage war es ein sehr erfolgreiches Turnier fĂĽr Safety Third, Kim wurde AuĂźerdem zum MVP gekĂĽrt.
FĂĽr Eliska war es der vierte Turniersieg in diesem Jahr, da sie unter anderem auch das Mallet Dolorosa gewann.
