BROCHET D’OR VII
This week-end, @annecybikepolo organized the 7th edition of the Brochet d’Or. It was also the 10th anniversary of the first edition, in 2013.
For this big occasion, the hosting club worked hard and proposed 2 courts for 16 teams of 3 players turning the format into 8 rounds and followed by a double elimination.
Teams were mainly from France : Annecy, Lyon, Montpellier, Tours but also from Switzerland and Italy.
At the end of day 1 and 7 rounds, TemoilesMongrels (Morgan, Alejandro, Bouchard) led the ranking with only one tie against Zidane (Reno, Arthur, Thomas) and everyone went for a swim in the great Annecy lake.
On the second day, the last round didn’t change the ranking and the double elimination started with all the teams. After a few games, it was time for the winner bracket finale and the Sudistes (Jason, MacFly and Woods) kicked TemoilesMongrels to the loser bracket after a tough game (5-4)
The loser bracket finale pitted them against the rising Lyon’s team Vandals (Vincent, Alphonse and a veteran sub for the occasion : Dewad). This game ended as a shooting contest between Vincent and Morgan. The 3 times in a row World champ took the win during the golden goal. Vandals took a good 3rd place and Dewad the MVP title !
TemoilesMongrels went back to the finale game but couldn’t do better than the previous game and lost 2-1 against Sudistes who were harder, better, stronger everywhere on the court.
Congratulations to all teams who participated and to Annecy Bike Polo club for proposing such a nice event 2 weeks before EHBPC !
