Mongrels won The Summit in Bern

Last weekend Emmet, Dodi, Bouchard and Morgan won the tournament Emmet hosted in the Swiss capital.

The traditional tournament in Bern had 12 teams of 4 competing, with some teams only able to play three.

On Saturday, each team had 5 games within a Swiss Round.

This resulted in a Top 8, which played a Double elimination on Sunday. Mongrels started perfectly and led this group with 5 wins. The Bottom 4 played a double elimination among themselves on Sunday. This meant for the teams 9-12 that they already knew on Saturday evening that they could not play for the victory.

On Sunday afternoon the last KO matches were played:
In the Winners Bracket Final Mongrels(Dodi, Emmet, Bouchard, Morgan) played against the traditional Bernese team Whoever(Reto, Chrigu, Elio, Dani). The match was balanced in the beginning, but finally Reto’s team lost 1:2

In the Loosers Bracket Final Whoever had to play against L’esquive (Remy, Martin, Alfonzo) and could not win this match either. The team around Remy, which actually wanted to play with Pablo, won with 2:1.

The teams Vandals from Lyon and Oh Schnaps around Jason and Pix also achieved a good ranking on Sunday, but missed the podium.

The Grand Final between Mongrels and L’esquive was introduced by a poetic poem, which also fit the theme of the tournament as Emmet organized it under the Art exhibition theme.

In the 22min final match, the goals were scored alternately until the score was 2:2.
While Mongrels lost to Remy in Lyon, it was a different story in this tournament.
In the end, the Mongrels were able to finish successfully after a good passing game and won the final 3:2.

Besides all the games, there was a lot of swimming in the Aare River over the weekend, which was a blessing for everyone due to the hot temperatures.
On Monday after the tournament there was a rafting where you could float for 3 hours on inflatable boats.
