The Milano team with Top, Riki and Seghez won the Maribor Open International Tournament under the heat of 35 degrees! Iva from Zagreb, who came with the whole adorable family, became the MVP. The best Rookie on the hot court was Burns from Cool Polo Graz.
Altogether 14 Teams came to the 2nd edition of Maribor Open in Slovenia. Within 8 teams were altogether ten FLINTA persons playing on this weekend.
On Saturday 6 Swiss Rounds were played in morning and afternoon groups. On Sunday morning the teams of the Top 4 had 2 games, the Mid Group had 3 games and another 2 games were played in the Bottom group. Top 8 then played a single elimination format.
In the first semi final Meneghini, which is not just a fancy fridge from Italy but also a cool team with Top, Riki, Seghez where fighting against no shoes, no shirts, no servus with Äna, Emilio from Bikepolo Vienna and Gallo also from Milano Bikepolo, and won 3:0
In the second semi final Spoke Break 3000 (Georg, Conny, Christopher) from Bikepolo Vienna and Bikepolo Linz were fighting against Human Fish with the famous brothers and organizers of the tournament David and Peter, together with Miguel. It was Christopher who saved the team with the golden goal going into the finals with 3:2 win. No shoes, no shirts, no servus played against Human Fish for the 3rd place and won with 2:0.
The finals were played between Meneghini and Spoke Break 3000. Within the exciting last seconds, Top decided the game with a 3:2 for his team.
