Christoph gewinnt in Büppel
Christoph (Leipzig) gewann am vergangenen Wochenende die Büppelmania 2024
Zahlreiche Menschen reisten am ersten Februarwochenende nach Büppel, um das erste deutsche Turnier des Jahres zu spielen. Schon seit 2012 findet in Büppel jährlich ein Turnier statt. Die
Bande aus Bierkästen ist wohl das größte Alleinstellungsmerkmal dieses klein Court Indoor Turniers.
Insgesamt gab es mehr als 80 Anmeldungen für die Büppelmania 2024. Es reisten sogar Spielende aus Danzig und Wien an.
Nachdem am Freitag die Bierkästen aus der örtlichen Jever Brauerei abgeholt wurden, konnte damit der Court gebaut und Pickups gespielt werden. Alle Teilnehmenden wurden bei den Locals untergebracht.
Als Format wurde Singeplayer Shuffle gespielt, wobei die Liste dreigeteilt war und somit immer eine Person aus dem oberen-, mittleren- und unteren Drittel in einem Team vertreten war. Das Siegerteam erhält dann entsprechend Punkte, somit sammelt jede Person quasi alleine Punkte, da nach jeder Runde neue Teams gemischt werden.
Am Samstag wurden vier Runde ausgespielt. Die Tabelle wurde von Christoph, Joner, Julius und Franky angeführt.
Der Abend wurde dann für zahlreiche Pickups bei bekannter Büppelmusik genutzt.
Am Sonntag morgen um 1.00 Uhr fanden dann auch die letzten den Weg ins Bett (;
Sonntag ging es dann um 9:30 Uhr mit zwei Runden weiter. Nach den dann insgesamt 6 gespielten Vorrunden entstand eine Tabelle, von welcher sich die Top24 für die Viertelfinals quaifizierte.
Im ersten Viertelfinale spielte Franky mit Moggi und Filippa gegen Thom, Hagen und Ole. Das Leipziger Nachwuchswunder Filippa konnte zusammen mit Lokalmatador Franky das Spiel mit 2:1 für sich entscheiden. Anschließend spielten Fabian, der vor zwei Jahren das Turnier gewann, zusammen mit Levin und Tonda gegen Buby, Hans und Kalle. Das Team um Büppel-Polo-Nachwuchs Tonda gewann das Spiel ebenfalls mit 2:1
Im dritten Viertelfinale standen Joner, der eine brilliante Vorrunde spielte, Lucas und Schmö gegen Manu, Julius und Gabi auf dem Spielplan. Leider kollidierte Julius nach einem schnellen Konter unglücklich mit der Bande und und musst anschließend aufgrund eines Schlüsselbeinbruchs ins Krankenhaus.
Somit war der Titelverteidiger unglücklich ausgeschieden. Robert aka HamburgPräsi, der eigentlich nur zum Zuschauen vorbei kam, hatte dann die Ehre, dass Spiel für Julius zuende zu spielen. Joner, Lucas und Schmö gewannen schlussendlich mit 3:2
Das letzte Viertelfinale in dem Kevin, Bobo und Emilio gegen Christoph, Chris und Russel spielten war ein klares 4:0 zugunsten des Tabellenersten.
Nachdem also die Hälfte der Top8 Spieler ausgeschieden war standen die Halbfinals an.
Zuerst traf Chris, der wieder mit Christoh spielte, zusammen mit Filippa auf Joner, Lucas und Tonda. Das Leipziger Team mit Hamburger Unterstützung konnnte an die bisherige Leistung anknüpfen und gewann das Spiel deutlich mit 6:1
Im zweiten Halbfinale spielten die beiden UrBüppler Franky und Fabian mit Russel gegen Levin, Moggi und Schmö. Durch gutes Passspiel zwischen Moggi und Levin und gute Defensivarbeit von Schmö konnte das Team mit 4:2 gewinnen.
Gegen 17 Uhr warteten dann alle gespannt auf die Finalauslosung.
Im Finale standen sich dann Christoph, Schmö und Moggi gegen Levin, Tonda und Chris Gegenüber.
Hierbei waren Christoph und Levin die beiden Spieler, die durch ihre erriechte Gesamtpuntzahl um den Titel konkurierten.
Nach einem anfangs ausgeglichenen Spiel und einem Zwischenstand von 3:3 konnte das Team um Stubborn-Bikepolo Fabrikant Christoph noch mehrere Kontertore erzielen. Nach 15min stand es dann 8:5 und Christoph spielte sich zum Titel, während er am gesamten Wochenende kein Spiel verlor.
Nach einer Siegerehrung wurde die Bande dann gemeinschaftlich abgebaut bevor die meisten Teilnehmenden die Rückreise antraten.

Christoph won Büppel
Christoph(Leipzig) won the Büppelmania 2024 last weekend
Numerous people traveled to Büppel on the first weekend in February to play the first German tournament of the year. The tournament has been held in Büppel every year since 2012. The biggest uniqueness is probably the board made from beer crates and the relatively small indoor court. In total, there were more than 80 registrations for the Büppelmania. Players even traveled from Gdansk and Vienna to the northern german City.
After the beer crates were collected from the local Jever brewery on Friday, the court could be built. The players started arriving in the afternoon and pickups were played from the evening onwards. All participants were accommodated by the locals.
The format was a single-player shuffle, whereby the list was divided into three and therefore one person from the top, middle and bottom third was always represented in a team. The winning team then gets points, so each person collects points virtually on their own, as there is a reshuffle after each round.
On Saturday, the tournament started at 8:30. For a variety of reasons, things didn’t progress quickly and so only three rounds had been played by the afternoon. After the fourth round of the day, it was over. The table was led by Christoph, Joner, Julius and Franky.
The evening was then used for numerous pickups with well-known Büppel music. On Sunday morning at 1 a.m., the last ones found their way to bed (;
Sunday continued at 9:30 with two more rounds. After a total of 6 preliminary rounds, a table was drawn up from which the top 24 qualified for the quarter-finals.
In the first quarter-final, Franky played with Moggi and Filippa against Thom, Hagen and Ole. The young Leipzig prodigy Filippa, together with local hero Franky, won the match 2:1. Fabian, who won the tournament two years ago, then played together with Levin and Tonda against Buby, Hans and Kalle. The team led by Büppel polo offspring Tonda also won the match 2:1. In the third quarter-final, Joner, who played a brilliant preliminary round, Lucas and Schmö were up against Manu, Julius and Gabi. Unfortunately, Julius collided with the boards after a fast counterattack and was subsequently taken away by ambulance due to a broken collarbone, meaning that the defending champion was unfortunately out. Robert aka HamburgPräsi, who actually only came to watch, then had the honor of finishing the game for Julius. Joner, Lucas and Schmö finally won 3:2
The last quarter-final in which Kevin, Bobo and emilio played against Christoph, Chris and Russel was a clear 4:0 in favor of the table leader Chistoph.
After half of the top 8 players had been eliminated, it was time for the semi-finals.
First, Chris who was playing with Christoh and Filippa faced Joner, Lucas and Tonda. The Leipzig team with support from Hamburg was able to build on its previous performance and won the game by a clear 6:1
In the second semi-final, the two Büpplers Franky and Fabian played with Russel against Levin, Moggi and Schmö. Thanks to good passing between Moggi and Levin and good defensive work by Schmö, the team won 4:2
At around 5 pm everyone waited for the final draw.
In the final, Christoph, Schmö and Moggi played against Levin, Tonda and Chris. Christoph and Levin were the two players competing for the title on the basis of their total number of points.
After an initially even game and an intermediate score of 3:3, the team around Stubborn manufacturer Christoph was able to seize the momentum and score several counter-attacking goals. After 15 minutes, the score was 8:5 and Christoph played his way to the title, while he didn’t lose any game the whole weekend.
After an award ceremony, the board was then dismantled together before most of the participants set off on their journey.
