Spectrum (Madej, Allison, Pajac, Levin) won 321Halle
Madej, Allison, Pajac and Levin won the squad tournament in Halle last weekend
A total of 12 teams played over the weekend, including players from Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany and England.
On Friday evening a few pickups were played and there was a barbecue. The Players camped directly next to the court. Saturday morning at 9am the tournament started. There were two groups in each a round robin was played. After Saturday, пікап (Leon, Sepp, August, Lisa) was leading the table, ahead of Spectrum by a better goal difference after they played 3:3. Saturday evening was spent at the club grounds. Sunday started with a double elimination with all 12 teams.
In the Winners Bracket Final, nikan played against Spectrum. The team around August and his father Sepp took a relatively early lead and then defended it confidently. In the end, nikan won 3:2 to reach the final.
In the Loosers Bracket Final, tutto ballo (Mateen, Alca, Niels, Robert) played against Spectrum. The team around Alca from Prague played brilliantly together, but could not quite withstand the pressure and got scored on three times while scoring only one goal themselves. Nevertheless, they deservedly secured 3rd place after the 20-minute game.
The final was the third match between пікап and Spectrum. Although nikan had won the last game, they were not necessarily the clear favorites going into the final.
After a score of 2:1 for nikan, Madej was able to make it 2:2 and shortly before the end of the game, Spectrum was even able to take a 3:2 lead and win the first game. As пікап was unbeaten up to that point, a double final had to be played, so the match continued after a short break. After about 15 minutes of play and a fast and spectacular game from both sides, the score was 3:1 for Spectrum. With 58 seconds left to play, Leon, who won the 2018 European Championship final against Madej and Pajac, was able to change the score to 3:2. The defense was not stable for a short time and 30 seconds later August was able to score again and send his team into overtime. The golden goal after more than 45 minutes of the final did not last very long. In the end it was Levin who was able to convert a counterattack and redeem his team.
While Pajac also won his last tournament in London, Madej and Levin won the German championship together two weeks ago. What a streak!
Alca was voted MVP for her incredible performance during the tournament.
The games on Sunday were broadcast live on Youtube by DownOverPolo and can be watched.
