Eiffel65 wins in Milan
Eliska, Punch and Bouchard won the Mixed or Treat indoor tournament in Milano last weekend.
For the 11th time there was an end of year tournament organized by Milano Bikepolo, for this edition 18 teams came to the northern Italian city.
The tournament takes place at the Centro Sociale Leoncavallo, the oldest self-governing social center in Italy, which has existed since the occupation of a former factory in 1975. It was evicted as well as partially demolished in 1989, then quickly reoccupied and rebuilt. Since then it has been the site of street art, concerts, theater, debates, exhibitions and a radio station. In 1994 it changed location and since 1995 it has also offered free food and shelter to those in need.
On Saturday there were three groups with 6 teams each, in which a round robin was played, so each team played 5 games. During the games, food was served in the in-house canteen.
Parallel to the tournament, a bicycle flea market and a graffiti exhibition attracted visitors to Leoncavallo. After all rounds were played, there was a party outside the hall in addition to pickups.
Eiffel65 and Babar (Morgan, Elodie, Jason) led the table after five games and were the top seeded teams for Sunday’s elimination.
Sunday morning the last 4 teams played in three matches each for the last two spots in the elimination, before a double elimination with 16 teams started.
In the Loosers Bracket quarterfinal Babar lost against Tranquillo (Pyetro, Lisa, Dodi) and was eliminated after only three games, although they were one of the favorites of the tournament after the preliminary round.
In the Loosers Bracket Enorm in Form (Levin, Quimey, Julius) played against Tranquillo (Pyetro, Lisa, Dodi). After a short time it was 2:0 for the team around Lisa, but Enorm in Form could equalize and scored after five minutes also the first goals. While Lisa got 30 seconds it was 4:2 for her team and Dodi could stay in possession and prevent a goal. With 30 seconds left in the game, Levin scored a big shot to make it 4-3, which gave hope for an equalizer. However, three seconds before the end, Levin missed a good chance. So the team around local hero Pyetro won 4:3 and secured a podium place, Enorm in Form finished fourth.
In the Winners Bracket Final Eiffel65 (Punch, Eliska, Bouchard) played against Vinci Milano (Dani, Romi, Loker). In this game 12 goals were scored. The crowd was delighted.
While Punch and Bouchard were very familiar with each other, especially because of the joint World Championship 2019, Romi and Loker also knew each other, both from Rosario (Argentina) and played this year’s World Championship together. In the end, Eliska’s team’s offense and defense were superior and they won 8-4
In the Loosers Bracket Final Vinci Milano played against Tranquillo. This game was not so nice to watch compared to the previous one, as there was no real flow of the game with many interruptions and time penalties. Despite the 10 goals scored. After starting difficulties on Saturday, the team around Lisa thus still secured third place.
In the Grand Final Vinci Milano had to play again against Eiffel 65, with the goal to win twice in a row. Both teams had a nice passing game to offer. Loker caused a stir several times when he broke through the defense with skillful ball and bike handling and scored.
The team around scoring monster Bouchard was only able to successfully complete an attack twice and lost the first final 3:2. Thus, the second game would finally decide the winner. Both teams were visibly tense and the game seemed more hectic.
After alternating goal scores, the score was 3:3 after 10 minutes of play. A final could not be more exciting.
But Eiffel65’s offense was ultimately stronger and was rewarded with the 4-3 win. Bouchard defended his title and won this tournament for the 6th time! Eliska claimed her fifth tournament win in 2023.
Loker was awarded in the category “Best Spirit”, “Best costume” and “the coldest”. The team Top Grazie won the “best mask” price and Rita got an award for “most improved”.
Besides nice trophies there were prizes from Met (helmets), Kryptonite and Stubborn Bikepolo Equipment.
Additionally all participants got Bikepolo Milano socks.
What a nice season ending and a last international reunion this year.

Eiffel65 gewinnt in Mailand
Eliska, Punch und Bouchard gewannen am vergangenen Wochenende das Mixed or Treat Indoor Turnier in Milano.
Zum 11 mal gab es einTurnier zum Jahresende welches von Milano Bikepolo organisiert wurde, zu dieser Ausgabe kamen 18 Teams in die norditalienische Stadt.
Das Turnier findet im Centro Sociale Leoncavallo statt, das älteste selbstverwaltete soziales Zentrum Italiens, welches seit der Besetzung einer ehemaligen Fabrik im Jahr 1975 besteht. Es wurde 1989 geräumt sowie teilweise abgerissen, dann schnell wieder besetzt und wieder aufgebaut. Seither ist es Standort für Straßenkunst, Konzerte, Theater, Debatten, Ausstellungen und einen Radiosender. 1994 wechselste es dann nochmal den Standort und bietet seit 1995 auch Bedürftigen kostenlose Verpflegung und eine Unterkunft an.
Am Samstag gab es drei Gruppen mit jeweils 6 Teams, in denen immer eine Round Robin gespielt wurde, wodurch jedes Team somit 5 Spiele absolvierte. Während die Spiele liefen, gab es Essen in der Hauseeigenen Kantine.
Parallel zum Turnier lockten ein Fahrradflohmarkt und eine Graffiti Ausstellung Besucher ins Leoncavallo.
Nachdem alle Runden gespielt waren, gab es neben Pickups auĂźerhalb der Halle noch eine Party.
Eiffel65 und Babar (Morgan, Elodie, Jason) fĂĽhrten nach fĂĽnf Spielen die Tabelle an und waren somit die Top gesetzten Teams fĂĽr die Elimination am Sonntag
Sonntag früh spielten die letzten 4 Teams in je drei Spielen noch die letzten zwei Startplätze in der Elimination aus, bevor dann eine Double Elimination mit 16 Teams startete.
Im Loosers Bracket Viertalfinale verlor Babar gegen Tranquillo (Pyetro, Lisa, Dodi) und schied somit nach drei Spielen schon aus, obwohl sie nach der Vorrunde zu den Favoriten des Turniers zählten.
Im Loosers Bracket spielten Enorm in Form (Levin, Quimey, Julius) gegen Tranquillo (Pyetro, Lisa, Dodi) 3:4 um den Podiumseinzug. Nach kurzer Zeit stand es 2:0 für das Team um Lisa, doch Enorm in Form konnte ausgleichen und erzielte nach fünf Minuten auch die ersten Tore. Während Lisa 30 Sekunden bekam stand es 4:2 für ihr Team und Dodi konnte im Ballbesitz bleiben und ein Gegentor in Unterzahl verhindern. 30 Sekunden vor Spielende erzielte Levin durch einen Big Shot das 4:3 erzielen, was Hoffnung auf einen Ausgleich machte. Drei Sekunden vor Schluss verpasste Levin dann aber eine gute Chance. Somit gewann das Team um Lokalspieler Pyetro mit 4:3 und sicherte sich einen Podiumsplatz, Enorm in Form wurde vierter.
Im Winners Bracket Final spielten Eiffel65 (Punch, Eliska, Bouchard) gegen Vinci Milano (Dani, Romi, Loker).
In diesem Spiel fielen 12 Tore. Die Menge war entzĂĽckt.
Während Punch und Bouchard vorallem durch die gemeinsame Weltmeisteschaft 2019 sehr eingespielt waren, kannten sich auch Romi und Loker, beide aus Rosario (Argentinien) die die diesjährige Weltmeisterschaft gemeinsam bestritten. Am Ende war die Offensive und Defensive von Eliskas Team überlegen und sie gewannen mit 8:4.
Im Loosers Bracket Final spielte dann Vinci Milano gegen Tranquillo. Dieses Spiel war im Vergeich zum vorherigen nicht ganz so schön anzusehen, da es mit vielen Unterbrechungen und Zeitstrafen kein richtiger Spielfluss entstand. Trotz der 10 gefallenen Tore. Nach Startschwierigkeiten am Samstag sicherte sich das Team um Lisa somit noch den dritten Platz.
Im Grand Final musste Vinci Milano dann wieder gegen Eiffel 65 antreten, mit dem Ziel zweimal infolge zu gewinnen. Beide Teams hatten ein schönes Passspiel zu bieten. Loker sorgte mehrmals für Aufsehen als er mit gekonntem Ball-Radhandling die Defensive durchbrach und Tore erzielte.
Das Team um Scoring Monster Bouchard konnte nur zweimal erfolgreich einen Angriff abschlieĂźen und verlor das Erste Finale mit 3:2. Somit sollte das zweites Spiel schlussendlich den Sieger kĂĽren. Beide Teams waren sichtlich angespannt und das Spiel wirkte sichtlich hektischer.
Nach wechselseitigen Torständen stand es nach 10 Minuten Spielzeit 3:3, Spannender kann ein Finale nicht sein.
Doch die Offensive von Eiffel65 war schlussendlich doch stärker und wurde durch den 4:3 Sieg belohnt. Bouchard konnte seinen Titel aus dem vergangenen Jahr verteidigen und Eliska holte ihren fünften Turniersieg in 2023.
Loker wurde in der Kategorie “Best Spirit”, “Best costume” und “the coldest” ausgezeichnet. Das Beste Kostüm hatte das Team Top Grazie und Rita bekam einen Preis für “most improved”.
Neben schönen Pokalen gab Preise von Met (Helme), Kryptonite und Stubborn Bikepolo Equipment.
Zusätzlich bekamen alle Teilnehmenden Bikepolo Mailand Socken.
Was ein Saison Abschluss und letztes internationales Wiedersehen in diesem Jahr.
Außerdem wurde das Büppel Banner während dem Turnier gesichtet (;
