Jason is Quing
Jason plays his way to the title and becomes the fifth Quing at the eighth edition of the tournament
On Friday, the players traveled to Hamburg for what is probably the most legendary single player tournament in Europe. Most of them arrived in the afternoon, during which it already started to rain.
A total of 43 playing cards were distributed, which were then the ticket for the recurring lottery pot. Besides numerous players from Hamburg, Berlin, Halle, Leipzig, Gaimersheim, Brussels and Copenhagen, also people from far away cities came to play polo in the northern German city over 24h at a stretch. Reto(Bern), Jovina(Vienna) as well as Cathal and Jason from Montpellier traveled to Hamburg.
The tournament was marked by recurring rain and also the temperature was autumnally cool.
The first hours were rather slow and many players had to get used to the conditions. Compared to the previous seven editions of the tournament, relatively few people went to sleep for any length of time. Thus there were 7 games in almost every round.
When the first night was over, the weather became very nice for a short time, but this should not last very long.
Throughout the day, the games were played and finally 13 rounds happened from Friday 10 pm to Saturday 10 pm. The top 12 players on the list were then shuffled together and played the semi-finals.
The following players reached the Top12: Pix, Jason, Vincent, August, Beppi, Nils, Cathal, Leon, Robert, Tony, Chris and Levin.
In the first semi-final Nils, Chris and Pix played against Vincent, Leon and Jason. Pix and Jason, so the table leaders from the preliminary round, were in a direct duel. However, it quickly became apparent that the team around last year’s Quing Leon had the clear upper hand. In the end, the team around Pix lost 1:6
In the second semi-final Cathal, Beppi and Levin played against Tony August and Robert. The game was very even at first, until Tony unfortunately scored two own goals and the team around last year’s second Levin took the lead. Then August crashed and had to continue playing with another bike. Through good passing and precise shots by local hero Robert the game was turned around and the team around Cathal lost 2:4
After 6 people had been eliminated, there was another shuffle while the rain became heavier again.
In the final Vincent, Robert and Leon played against August, Tony and Jason. This was not only an Ocotpussy revival but also a team of three previous Quings. So Jason or Leon could play their way to the title.
The team around this year’s Brussels winner Vincent played very well together, but failed again and again to finish successfully. They had a lot of shots on goal, but couldn’t convert more than three chances. The team around Euro third Jason, on the other hand, played more defensively and without very much possession. Nevertheless, they managed to score seven times, with Tony playing a key role again and again. So in the end it was 7:3 for Jason, who played his way to become the new Quing.
The game was followed by all participants with great excitement, then Quing Leon handed over the crown to the new Quing Jason.
In the meantime, it was already Sunday morning, so everyone was glad to finally get a good night’s sleep.
Sunday morning it was still raining while we cleaned up and slowly all people went home.

Jason ist Quing
Jason spielt sich zum Titel und wird der fünfte Quing bei der achten Ausgabe des Turniers.
Am Freitag reisten Spielende für das wohl legendärste Singelplayer Turnier Europas nach Hamburg. Die meisten kamen am Nachmittag, an welchem es schon zu regnen begann.
Insgesamt wurden 43 Spielkarten verteilt, die dann das Ticket für den immer wiederkehrenden Lostopf waren. Neben zahlreichen Spielenden aus Hamburg, Berlin, Halle, Leipzig, Gaimersheim, Brüssel und Copenhagen, kamen auch Menschen aus ferneren Städten um in der Norddeutschen Stadt über 24h am Stück Polo zu spielen. Reto(Bern), Jovina(Wien) sowie Cathal und Jason aus Montpellier reisten nach Hamburg.
Das Turnier war gezeichnet vom immer wiederkehrenden Regen und auch die Temperaturen waren herbstlich kühl.
Die ersten Stunden verliefen eher schleppend und viele Spielende mussten sich ersteinmal an die Umstände gewöhnen. Im Vergleich zu den bisherigen sieben Ausgaben des Turniers, spielten fast alle Personen durch. Somit gab es in fast jeder Runde 7 Spiele.
Als die erste Nacht Überstanden war wurde das Wetter kurzzeitig sehr schön, doch dies sollte nicht sehr lange anhalten.
Über den Tag hinweg wurde Spiel um Spiel bestritten und schlussendlich wurden 13 Runden von Freitag 22 Uhr bis Samstag 22 Uhr gespielt. Die Top 12 Spieler der Liste wurden dann neu zusammen gemischt und spielten die Halbfinals.
Die Top12 erreichten folgende Spieler: Pix, Jason, Vincent, August, Beppi, Nils, Cathal, Leon, Robert, Tony, Chris und Levin.
Im ersten Halbfinale spielten Nils, Chris und Pix gegen Vincent, Leon und Jason. Pix und Jason, die Tabellenführenden aus der Vorrunde standen also im direkten Duelll. Es zeichnete sich jedoch schnelll ab, das das Team um Vorjahres Quing Leon die klare Oberhand hatte. Schlussendliss verlor das Team um Pix mit 1:6
Im zweiten Halbfinale spielten Cathal, Beppi und Levin gegen Tony, August und Robert. Das Spiel war zuerst sehr ausgeglichen, bis Tony unglücklicherweise zwei Eigentore erzielte und das Team um Vorjahres zweiten Levin in Führung ging. Dann stürzte August auch noch und musste vorerst mit einem anderen Rad weiterspielen. Durch gutes Passspiel und präzise Schüsse von Lokalmatador Robert wurde das Spiel nocheinmal gedreht und das Team um Euro Vizemeister Cathal verlor mit 2:4
Nachdem 6 Personen ausgeschieden waren wurde nochmals geshuffelt, während der Regen wieder stärker wurde.
Im Finale spielten Vincent, Robert und Leon gegen August, Tony und Jason. Dies war nicht nur ein Ocotpussy Revival sondern auch ein Team aus drei bisherigen Quings.
Jason oder Leon konnten sich also zum Titel spielen.
Nach einer kurzen Abtastphase wurde das Spiel deutlich interessanter und nahm Fahrt auf. Das Team um den diesjährigen Brüssels Sieger Vincent spielte zwar sehr gut zusammen, scheiterte aber immer wieder daran erfolgreich abzuschließen. Sie hatten sehr viele Torschüsse, doch konnten nicht mehr als drei Chancen verwerten. Das Team um Euro dritten Jason hingegen spielte eher defensiv und ohne sehr viel Ballbesitz. Trotzdem schafften sie es sieben mal ein Tor zu erzielen, wobei Tony auch immer wieder eine Schlüsselrolle übernahm. Am Ende stand es also 7:3 für Jason, der sich damit zum neuen Quing spielte.
Das Spiel wurde von allen Teilnehmenden mit großer Spannung verfolgt, im Anschluss übergab Quing Leon dann die Krone an den neuen Quing Jason.
Mittlerweile war es schon Sonntag Morgen, weshalb alle froh waren endlich richtig schlafen zu können.
Sonntag Vormittag regnete es dann immernoch während aufgeräumt wurde und sich langsam alle Menschen auf den Heimweg machten.
