Ella, Lishka and Remy won in Zurich.
The The Holy Grip Open last weekend had an ABCDEFG format to make the teams more even.
Overall 13 teams were participating(mostly Swiss, Austrian and German).
On Saturday 6 games where played in a swiss Round. Big rippers (Damian, Zita, Sonni) were leading after the first day. One more game was played on Sunday morning. Sunday was double elimination.
“It’s OK” (Lishka, Ella, Remy) granted their place in finals from the winners bracket giving a revanche to “Who ref?” (Chrigu, Clara, Thomas) with a score of 4:3 moving them to the looser bracket.
In the looser bracket semi finals “Jack knife” (Jovi, Caballo, Äri) played agianst Raclette (Mario, Marc, Moritz) and won 3:2. A few seconds before the end Caballo made a winning goal and brought the team to the next round. In the next Round “Jack knife” (Jovi, Caballo, Äri) lost to “Who ref?”(Chrigu, Clara, Thomas) in a very spectacular match which ended 2:1, but still secured a place on the podium.
In the finals “Who ref?”(Chrigu, Clara, Thomas) had an even game against “It’s OK” (Lishka, Ella, Remy). After it was 2:2 Chrigu scored the golden goal and brought his team in the second final game, because “It’s OK” had a second life coming from the winners bracket.
Both teams were pretty exhausted after the previous games but started straight ahead. In the end “It’s OK” (Lishka, Ella, Remy) won 4:2 against “Who ref?” Chrigu, Clara, Thomas) while showing good team play.
Praap had some nice presents like mallets, shafts, heads and connects for the players.
While Remy won the tournament for the second time in a row, Ella played for only 7 months. She also reactivated Bikepolo Lausanne which is pretty cool!
