Hey people! What’s the deal with taking a bike (in or out of a bag) on swiss trains…I’ll either be coming into Geneva or Basel so will need to get a train (or bus???) to Bern

If you put it in a bag or cover it with sheets it’s free (on the trains) or you get a day ticket for the bike. Don’t know how much it costs tho :)

for the swiss trains either you put it in a bag and it’s free as jovi said, or you pay 15frs for the day. You’ll just have to check if there’s a reservation needed on your train. If that’s the case, it’s 2frs more.
I really encourage you to just put it in a bag :)) easy!

take a train or flixbus (could be cheaper but dunno about bike in the bus, unless you have it all packed up anyway and they dont know whats in there). in the train you can take it for free if you have it packed up. it’s a joke cause i can put my full bike in the bag lol. do you have a bikebag? that would make it easiest and cheapest, it’s for free if you take off the wheels and you put it either in the bag or you take both wheels off and manage to push the bike behind some seat otherwise for 15francs you get a day card for the train for the bike…

oops just saw ella replied already lol, yes take a bikebag then it’s like having luggage with you, no reservation and extra ticket needed. unpacked-> in the IC you need a reservation only on friday/saturday/sunday and holidays costs 2francs in addition to 15 francs for the bike. you can’t take the bike into any EC trains unless packed up
