How to guide the brake hose

Hi! Show me what you got! :)

I’m using a plastic pipe to protect the brake hose from scratches, cuts, and crushing, but it still became irreversibly bent and broken near the lever. Do you have any tips on how to route or secure the hose more effectively?

Get a steel braided hose :D

On a more serious note, @ShroomCycles has some crazy looking solution where he wrapped some wire around the hose

I am just replacing my hose with steel braided one, still… I would love to guide it optimally :)

I think I don’t throw my bike around enough, as I haven’t had the issue yet ;).

That said, I’d definitely go with the hose on the rear side of the fork leg, and try to guide it so it stays as much behind the handlebars as possible as well - see Levin’s setup below - the hose seems to hardly be an impact surface regardless of direction
Ofc that might not be possible with your preferred bars/lever setup.

For my shigura lovers… Oh boy there is news…

I think then you should be fine honestly, in my experience the steel braided ones are more than tough enough

I left my hose longer so that it goes over the bars, along the stem, down the steerer and down behind the fork leg. Doesn’t leave a large gap between hose and the bike for easy snags
