Karlovačko Polo Weekend vol.3

Same procedure as every year!

I´d like do a small 3v3 team “tournament” like last year in the Hall in Karlovac. Similar to the pumpquing tournament in Graz.

11.-12. January 2025 in Karlovac, Croatia

That means:

I just organize the court and playing format! Not more!

  • Food? Get it yourself :wink:
  • Sleeping? Organize it yourself :wink: (In the hall it´s too cold, so airbnb or so would be the best)

My Plan for the weekend would be:

Friday: Court cleaning and Pick ups in the evening from around 18:00
Saturday: Big Round Robin
Sunday: We will see, depending on how many teams we are.

When: 11.-12. January 2025

Location: You might know it from the last time. It´s the Hall of IHK Karloavc in the military base. The court has a plastic tile surface and is a bit slippery, but still totally fine to play! In the Hall itself it´s quite cold but there is a room with a pallets oven, where we can warm up. There are speakers and lights of course. So we could theoretically play all night long.

Format: ~10-14 teams 3v3 Teams

Costs: ~20-25€ per Person (depends on how many teams register)

Accommodation: Organise it yourself. There are quite cheap AirBnb

Registration:

First come, first serve! Registration starts Sunday 8.12.2024 18:00 and ends 4.1.2025 12:00. Please send an email to bikepolograz@gmx.at .
To confirm your registration (and make things easier for me) please pay the reg fee via paypal in advance. Infos coming when I know how much the fee will be.

I´m looking forward to see you all on a fun, not serious weekend!!

Team name?? Isn’t this supposed to be single player?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. No its a 3v3 team tournament. (As written in the post) Just the tournament “sytle” is similar to the pumpquing tournament. That means we just organize the court and format, nothing else.

If anyone is interested in cheap disc guards, think of your newbies or your club’s loaner bike. I will bring these 4 guards for sale. 15euro each.

I want to finalize the gameplan today in the evening, so I can print it asap.
If there are any changes (a whole team won’t come, an other wants to come) please let me now NOW.
Player changes doesn’t really matter. I just need to know the amount of teams for the system.

It seems like we are only 11 teams. Therefore the system will most likely be a big round robin on Saturday and sunday till midday. Then either double elim or single elim, depend on how much time is left.

Friday: pick-ups from around 19:00
Saturday: start: 9:00 till ~20:00
Sunday: start 9:00

Is it possible to start pick ups earlier on Friday? We can be there around 16-17h already.

We from Graz will arrive at around 18:00+. Somebody from the hockey club will bring the keys for the hall. When I know who, I can send you the number.
