RECAP / SUMMARY
As promised, here‘s a summary of what was discussed at the open forum in perpignan

Big thanks to @Ellon for helping with moderation and @Elodie for giving advice!!
Original topic: Open Forum @ EHBPC 2025
Topics that were discussed:
-ehbpc 2026 (biiig silence
) Suggestion to only hold every second year and or announce more than one year in advance even if next year is still open.
Suggestion to transport boards across europe. Suggestion to have an ongoing topic on poloverse and to collect experiences/ advice from organizers by @Jibbz
-ehbpc 2026 mandatory mixed? Brought up by @Bulle after a majority of 166 players in the global survey and 66% of european FLINTA players had expressed their will in a survey. Several voices stated that it should be a temporary measure, but current FLINTA participation speaks volumes. A mandatory mixed next ehbpc could be seen as an experiment, with the intention of reviewing the result afterwards.
But how to get to a decision? Bring it up to alejandro/ django? Wish for a community decision on the subject was expressed..could go along well with ehba elections
-community policing (code of conduct? Task force? Ehba to handle?)
-and ehba elections. This topic yielded the biggest discussion, so I will get into it a little bit more here. The topics discussed above could all be handled through task forces, which was proposed several times. The problem with this would be that people feel like ‚imposters‘ or not having the legitimacy to decide or even make suggestions for the community. Elections could potentially solve this.
-a big point that was raised was how to decide which jobs EHBA should even have and how their decisions could be enforced? > common sentiment seemed to be that people/ team(s) should run for EHBA with a program detailing what they want to do. Anything outside of ehbpc or rules, like diversity policies or community policing in case of serious misbehaviour/ allegations would most likely always remain suggestions.
-it was mentioned that running as a team could lower the threshold, as people would know who they would work with and could come up with a common program.
-there was definitely a wish for more efforts on a european level, but also concerns about this being realistic. Any possible future commitee should still try to delegate as many jobs as possible, was one opinion voiced- the commitee could be almost purely a moderation platform.
Generally there are concerns to disturb the current ‚do-ocracy‘ model, but there are also big hopes to push things forward and a sentiment that „trying won‘t hurt“
Again, I would like to thank everyone present, everyone reading this, showing interest and giving their opinion!
My agenda behind this is forwarding the sport and the community by pushing self-organization, representation, etc.
It was a first time as far as I know - outside of FLINTA-tournaments.
People are not used to the format and you could tell. But I would be very happy to try again and not just at ehbpc but tournaments where other parts of the community are present as well.
Lezz push it push ittttt!!
