Organizing a Tournament in a City with no Polo

Just asking for a friend here. I know it‘s being done quite often, so what exactly are the conditions, challenges etc to host a tournament from outside of the place where the court(s) are?

How is it different from hosting where you live/ play?

I know @iva has done it in Karlovać, people from vienna with the camp @mischa @jovina (sorry if wrong people) milano in torino @Pyetro @Tommi_da soon to be lac‘roche by
@Joe @Nathalie

Not soo different, not actually that hard or am I wrong?!

Wördern, where multiple Polocamps and Austrian Champs have taken place is somewhat easy because it´s only 30min away from Vienna and we´ve already got the minimum infrastructure requirements (court, toilets, showers, camping) already covered. Getting gear to the court usually requires someone with a car.

Organizing a tournament somewhere remote with no infrastructure is a different ball game.
@iva and @Gedas got experience.

You can also ask Samir, I don’t know if he uses Poloverse though

For Torino:
At first we cooperated with a commercial partner that gave us the person to contact for the municipality of Torino. At the end the commercial partner didn’t support us through the event for reasons but we kept in contact with the municipality.
The rest of the process is similar to any other event you want to organize in any city here: the need of an association, a lot of paper , a bit of money and a person that don’t leave your mail unread.
Specifically in Torino we found a court in public park, only restrooms , no showers, but probably the best surface I played on and concrete walls .
