I go crazy looking at the icons with those purple bars around. Also look at what Vienna did with their row: blasphemous!! 
I think it should all be like Berlin, Brussels and Venezia, sweet sexy little squares 
Or maybe like Milano, with their tasteful use of an alpha channel and a round logo
