Your polo bike got stolen? Read this ! Poloverse guidance

Once you get to calm down a little, it is time to get the word out quickly to inform as many ppl as possible.

Create or get someone to create announcements to quickly raise awareness via social media (insta, FB etc…) and group chats on messaging apps to be relayed to wider circles, share a photo of your bike, and where and when it happened.

On Poloverse, there is now a stolen bike section to also post this information:

Here is are a few suggestions for what to include in the post about your stolen polo bike:

  • Location and date of theft
  • Description of the bike
  • Your contact details
  • Photos of the bike
  • List with details of frame and parts
  • Story of how the theft (might have) happened (optional, but can be useful as a lesson learned or to provide a warning about something)

Feel free to use this template for the list of bike parts:

(file/create a copy, to save your own)
Then for posting a table on poloverse, it is best to format it in markdown to keep it readable and avoid it breaking, you can use an online tool like this one: Convert Spreadsheet to Markdown · Table to Markdown

If you are reading this and your bike has not been stolen, go take good photos of it now (today is the most recent your bike setup has ever been!) and try to do it regularly. Also, list up as many details and parts of your bike as possible. Knowing this and having it ready to be shared will make your life easier when the worse happen, getting this info out asap is crucial to give it the best chance of recovery.

Anyone has other good tips to share?
