International teams can definitely play Euro. I never said they can not.
I’m just saying they shouldn’t be surprised if there will be no spot for them.

Bikepolo is somehow played in around 20-25 countries in Europe.
If these countries will ask for at least one spot and big scenes like France, Switzerland… will ask/register even more teams then you can have just a few or even no spots for ‘internationals’.

So the question is what makes an international team. For me it’s something different than to you. And that’s ok, let’s talk about it (after Perpignan).
Someone sees 2 international teams registered and I see around 8.

If you fit 3/4 rule you are ok and nobody is questioning.
If not and you go 2/4, 1/4 or 0/4 you have to ask national community if it’s fine to represent this country.
So technically even 4/4 french team can ask for example Finland bikepolo and after their consent register and play as finnish team.

And that’s why I believe we should draw a line somewhere because in 2-4 years we can be in position where allocation of spots can be nearly impossible.

As I said from the start this question is probably for the future and would cause more trouble for this Euro. And that’s not my point at all.
Let’s go with the rules this Euro is already going.

Thanks Quentin for your patience and sorry for the late response. This is what is proposed for this year’s slot distribution:

For France we’re figuring out how to go from 16 to 13 teams. Apart from Spain, everything is pretty much the same (between pre-registration and attribution) for other countries.

So far we have 20 volunteers/referees. We thank them But let’s keep in mind that there are three courts to build + many games to ref + everything else, so the more the better: EHBPC 2K25 - referee/volunteer registration

Salut la compagnie,

Petit point d’organisation pour le weekend prochain et les EHBPC2025.

Format du jour 1 : 2 groupes, 5 swiss rounds.
Format du jour 2 : mix groupes, 5 swiss rounds, les 12 dernières équipes sautent.
Format du jour 3 : match de classement pour le top 24, puis double élimination à 16 équipes.
Les équipes qui jouent le matin arbitrent l’aprem et vice versa.
Chaque équipe arbitrera 5 matchs sur 2 jours.
Nous indiquerons les groupes et le planning arbitrage rapidement. Les équipes absentes à leur tour d’arbitrage seront sanctionnées.

Jeudi :
Montage des 3 terrains jeudi à partir de 9h.
point arbitrage/mini ref camp à 17h avec Alejandro.
open forum à 19h30 avec Rémy.

Jour de match type :
petit déj 8h
premier match 8h30
Le planning de la journée va être serré donc nous n’accepterons pas les retards au début des matchs ou au reffing. Team absente = 3-0 en sa défaveur.
avec 2 groupes de 18 sur 3 terrains les équipes risquent d’enchaîner les matchs. Faites attention à bien gérer vos rotations pendant les matchs.

Infos pratiques :
ce sera la canicule à Perpignan mais prévoyez parasol, parapluie, casquette, crème solaire. Pour les boissons : prenez votre propre gobelet ou tasse.
il y aura des stands de nourriture au terrain pour les trois midis, avec option végétarienne.

A quick organizational update for next weekend and the EHBPC2025.

Day 1 format: 2 groups, 5 Swiss rounds
Day 2 format: Mixed groups, 5 Swiss rounds, the last 12 teams are eliminated.
Day 3 format: Ranking matches for the top 24, then double elimination with 16 teams.
Teams playing in the morning will ref in the afternoon, and vice versa.
Each team will ref 5 matches over 2 days.
We’ll let you know the groups and reffing schedule soon. Teams who are absent for their reffing shift will be penalised.

Thursday:
Set-up of the 3 fields from 9am.
Ref briefing at 5pm with Alejandro.
Open forum at 7:30pm with Rémy.

Typical match day:
Breakfast at 8am
First match at 8:30am
The schedule will be tight, so we won’t accept delays at the start of matches or for reffing. Absent team = 3-0 loss.
With 2 groups of 18 teams on 3 fields, teams may have to play matches back-to-back. Make sure to manage your rotations well during games.

Practical info:
Probably gonna be a heatwave in Perpignan, so bring a parasol, umbrella, cap, and sunscreen. For drinks: bring your own cup or mug.
There will be food stalls at the field for all three lunchtimes, with a vegetarian option.
